The Sleeper
ASDW / Arrow Keys to Move, Space to Burrow, Escape to Pause Game
This is a short stealth game made in under 72 hours for the Retro Game Jam hosted by FlyingFish in November 2020. The theme was "Undead." Any resemblance to your favorite ghost story is strictly a matter of homage, or parody. :)
I chose a classic Game Boy color palette, and went with a simple stealth gameplay. If I ever build this out to a bigger game, I have a few ideas about what I'd redo and what I'd add...
This was my first game jam! It was somewhat harrowing, especially when my builds kept breaking and/or displaying new bugs. Enjoy. :)

I love the art and everything, I just have a few suggestions:
1. Add music to it! That could add so much depth to it, so i would definitely suggest adding music for the menu, cutscene, and game.
2. The controls are a little rough. Obviously they're not going to be perfect, but for a game based solely on movement, it seemed a little off.
3. I can't really tell what the point of the game is. Is it to survive as long as possible? To reach a destination? I honestly can't tell. If you could add a place in the menu to tell you what it is about, that would be great. If it is about survuval then add a timer, and so on.
4. Please add an option to pause/go back to the menu. That would be really helpful, specifically for instructions or options if you add any if a player accidentally started.
5. Add a way to skip the cutscene, they can get long and tedious.
That was all, and this game is great! If you would like to polish it after voting/showcase is done for a (possible) second round, that would be awesome! And please take these things into consideration for the game and all others you make in general. I loved it though, and I cant wait to see more!
